fountain will be the king of speed as long as outerlimits is not there, so reggie should enjoy his short lived victory!

Can someone build a "one trick pony" vee hull and take the record?

Someone - anyone with money, really - COULD theoretically dump a pair of 1500 HP engines into a tricked-out, blueprinted, one-of-a-kind canopied Bayliner, and make two kilo passes.

What needs to happen, is to take two hulls of similar length and accoutrements, and 525's, and run (first) a kilo, and (second) a Miami-Bimini-Miami. Do it same day (or close to identical conditions), but not side-by-side.
We would then have identified the king of v-hulls (in terms of hull design and efficiency). . . period. End of story. Loser challenges again next year, or next month, at the winner's discretion.

Anybody got the balls for THAT?. . . .

Yeah... have someone disinterested ( yeah...not at this web site) provide identical engines and drives... adjust both boats so that the weight is identical... and then have them race... yeah.... never happen though... It would then prove or disprove who has the fastest hull... and we all know everyone wants those bragging rights!

When i raced in PX class at the the worlds in Key West nov 2002 ,the Bacardi Boat and I where racing at the same time as Paul was in the Outerlimits PV boat that set that record , let me tell you i was very impressed ! It was choppy out there and that boat was running on rails!!!

Kilokat will tell ya ,both these boats and manufacturer's are world class leaders and gentlemen !

I will congradulate anyone, any man or woman that will step in a boat and run those sort of speeds !!!

Congradulations ! To the whole crew at Fountain !!

Who built the Fountain? Was it a Skater built one? Is that why he used a 4 year old boat because it is better than what he can build?
