mmm.... I think it is called a "Bold face lie!"... we've all gone through little misrepresentations.. but when someone says it's a 10 and it's really a POS... yeah... they should have to reimburse you for your expenses... only problem is... even if you sue them in small claims court... if you want it done quickly.. you have to do it in their jurisdiction... get the judgment there... under law... if they made the misrepresentation to you over the phone.. you should be able to sue them in YOUR backyard,, and not theirs... but good luck getting them to even show up and address the claim... even better luck trying to collect. And for god sake.... Be careful doing business in Texas... if you aren't "one of the good 'ol boys" you are really boned... If you enter into a contract with an out of state party... for god's sake... list in the contract that the all laws and terms of the contract pertain to the laws of the state that you reside in... You will find that snakes from other states will word into the contract that all terms are pursuant to the laws of their state... that way if you have to sue them... you have to do it on their turf... and have to hire an attorney that practices in their state... I've leaned this the hard way...

HELL! I've even had 100% new boats not be a 10+. So now I'm scared when a guy says his used older boat is a perfect 10!

This sounds like a fair idea ... it separates the lookers from the "real buyers"... REAL buyers have an idea of the expenses incurred... CASH ONLY too!

Hell I sold my boat to a guy on here. I met him on the highway at a truck stop 2 hours from my house and gave him the boat. Yes he did test drive the boat and all a week prior. But I figured he bought it with NO BS. So I wanted to save him from driving the whole trip from Va to Philly.
