Default 24 BRT outboard model

Well got it home. It's an 1987. Outboard. I found it on Craigs list. $500 or best offer. I got it for $450. It had no wheels or hubs on it. The grass and vines and weeds had grown over the trailer frame and the hull itself. The previous owner died a few years ago. He had purchased brand new hubs and 4 brand new tires for the trailer before he passed. I spent all of Sunday last week digging it out of the weeds and jacking it up. Monday morning I put on the new hubs and tires, the trailer lights still worked. I trailered it home 85 miles without a problem. It's cleaning up pretty good. Found one tree growing up out of the drivers seat and a second tree growing up from the passenger side. Stripped the interior. Planning on putting drop down bolsters in it. Cabin cushions were good and cleaned up nice with some shampoo. Cleaning up the hull presently. Red is coming back. I'm using Meguires oxydation remover and polish. It has not been in the water since 92. It has a 1986 Mariner 2.4 litre EFI Magnum. It has a blown lower unit. The case is cracked. So I will need a lower unit. Also the starter is toast. I was able to perform a compression test and all six cylinders are within 5 pounds. Not sure what the horsepower is. Google has not come up with a good number yet. Have not figured out yet insert photos. Wants a URL name.

Hey I have a 24 BRT down here in Texas. My buddy built it from a shell, he has some awesome pics and did an unbelieveable job making this into one of the cleanest boats around. It is definitely a head-turner and runs it's ass off. I enjoy smoking all the 100K boats and the popping the hood to show them one engine!

Big24, welcome to OSO. Your statement sounds like a "Triple Digits" statement.
