Yours and mine also. Just curious if anyone went through with their diesel projects or did they hit a brick wall and gave up. Does anyone know if any diesel packages came out since last year besides the 480hp Yanmar. Thanks Jeff

I might have missed this at the Miami show, how are they on reliability and power to weight ratio, Thanks Jeff

you have to hit Marine diesel, go to Tigershark. 400hp @4000rpm and 948tq. It looks smaller than a Yanmar and appears it is the appr same size as a big block. Any one have any info, thanks Jeff

Jeff, I spoke to the guys who run this co a couple of years back.
They were on the R&D team for mercs 525.
This is a direct plug and play replacement for a chevy big block.
I'd give them a call, and check on their dealer/service network, probably not as extensive as yanmar/cummins/cat.
But diesel is the wave of the future.... w/ audi winning at Sebring w/ one.

btw, i posted the link to marine diesel usa on page 8 of this thread and i'm sure i discussed it other places. I think it may be a smart way to go. These guys are putting their power into many test applications overseas.

What's needed is a motor that revs in excess of 4/4.5k, and preferably light alloy, then we'd be cooking with gas.
My GM 6.5s are in their 6th season this year, and i've not broken a drive yet (Bravo1's), that's with 325 hp and circa 3900 rpm.

Why don't you get a stronger outdrive and you can use the Duramax to its fullest potential?
