Diesel powered sport boats?
SubscribeThey got the duramax with 3speed trannies running, but the trannie wouldn't shift.
The boat ran 100 in first gear with good acceleration, but that was all they could do for now. The owner wanted a comfortable 100 mph cruz. So if they get the trannie issues worked out he should be there. I'll let you know if I find out anything else.

ttt diesel discussion... cummins 6B 5.9T this motot is used a lot in the marine world and produces a lot of power in trucks.. I'm looking for a head or a long block to start mocking up a tubular water cooled exhaust. I have some pics of tubulars instead of cast exhaust on trucks..
any sources on the board with a cracked heads or something just for mockups

Build them and they will come. I'll take 3 in my next Nortech, I need around 450-500 hp and 750-800 tq. Can you have them by end of the season.Originally Posted by TopSpin80

Nothing apparently but the 6.5 surely aint the answer for larger boats But Iīm sure a 6.6 will be.
I guy around here had twin penisular 300s on his Baja 420ES and nothing but problems with them 6.5 POS like almost everone on the roads up here too.
Couldnīt take the strain a heavy boat gives apparently.
Gale Banks takes 650hp and 1000lbs.ft out of them heavily modified but thenagain a Cummins 5.9 is also a top contender.

I'm working on the cummins 5.9 with a 2 speed powerglide behind it. I just wish I could get more info. I went to the diesel nationals, bet most people are secretive and think they have spent a fortune on their powerplants. One of the guys had 15k in his motor and thought that was A LOT... my dad and I think that a tame version of what he was running would be perfect in a boat.
I think I might just buy an old dodge truck and start from there, beacuse some of the 5.9 blocks that are out of china are junk.... and those are the cheap ones. a 12Valve without all the computer crap is probably the best in a boat and a lot less headaches getting it to run

Also, I spent ages today trying to find pics of your boat to show my mate with the Squadron, without any success, and chance of some pics of that also?
