Jim, most of the safety stuff is as simple as padding any sharp edges. However the one safety item that you must have are kill switches for both riding crew members. Theses need to be the pull off cap type that connect to your life vests.
Otherwise, some good helmets and life jacket are what you need most. You can read the SBI or APBA rule book regarding safety issues. OPA is basically the same as theirs.

Do the life jackets have to be orange lifeline? I have lifeline pokerrun jackets. Got the padding covered> how about non skid on the decks how much required? and the saftey check list from opa says transom grab rail? Also got the cap type cut offs. Pretty much there. Got halon on the way and just need a vhf.

Got to speak to eddie form Smitty's Going to meet saturday and get some more info. Looks like I am definetly in for this season! Finishing details this week and am ready to start running the boat!
