Never ever use "want to race" and "money matters" in the same sentence. They just don't go together........

Just like in amateur auto racing... it takes cubic inches and CUBIC DOLLARS... if you want to race.

The best way to get started in offshore racing is to lease a one design boat from Chris Reindl for one or all of the races. have you thought about the One Design class? i started about a year or so ago and it is one of the best ways to safely get into racing in a controled environment. the boats are fast and very stable. Lookin to buy tho ... we want to race and have fun in the sun .... we might clear 40 thou or so when the old house has sold ... can we buy a used One Design? Found none in boattrader ...

If you live in NY you might want to run with OPA. It's a grass roots series that will keep you close to home and the costs down. I know Chris has been wanting to run a bat boat at OPA races for some time now.
