Attn: Stolen 42 Mti

Randy Scism just asked me to post this. Between 9pm and 9am last night (Saturday 27th), a brand new 42 MTI was stolen from Marine Technology, Inc. If anyone has any information or has seen this boat heading south, please call Randy on his cell at 314-277-4000. The boat is extremely large and visible and has an orange, silver and blue paint job with painted rivets. Boat was located at his shop just outside of St. Louis.

If you need any other info, you can call me at 216.233.8474.

WTF! It's not like you can hide something like that in your garage. That's a major deal. Was it finished or being built?

puder 03-28-2004 01:20 PM

**** is that an OSO members boat?

that is bull****, theft is such a chicken**** crime.

josh76 03-28-2004 01:27 PM

.

yeah this is the same boat that was at the miami boat show. definaltely not something that can be hidden easily. randy thinks the boat is on the way down south, so he is hoping someone sees it on the road, which shouldnt be too easy to miss. please call if you have any info. thanks

I agree.... you can add lojack or teletrac to your boat... find out where it is anywhere... I know my next boat is going to be so equiped.

Wild 03-28-2004 02:29 PM

I saw this boat this morning heading from St.Charles to chesterfield at 5:30am, it was beutifull.

I have already contacted Randy Scism and he is letting the police know.

Good luck Randy

I doubt anybody is stupid enough to steal such a recognisable, custom boat for their own joyriding... Looks like somebody really, really liked the boat during the boat show and decided to have it without letting you know beforehand... Somebody whose funny behaviour you may have noticed during the show? Just a tought... The upside of that possibility is the fact that they probably won't break it down for parts.

In any case, I sincerely hope you recover it in A1 shape.

When I read this post I thought of you. I guess the trip took a little longer than you thought. Good to see you made it home safe. I hope your lead helps find this boat!

ApachePete 03-28-2004 03:54 PM

I saw it an hour ago heading south on I-275 in St. Pete, FL.

Being pulled by a matching truck.

ApachePete 03-28-2004 04:14 PM

Up date

I just got a call from a MO cop about the boat.

He says the stolen one is a pleasure version with no canopies. The boat I saw had a center canopy, so it's probably not the same one.

In fact, my first reaction when I saw it was that it must Billy Mauff's new Skater.

The officer is FAXing me a picture, so I'll soon know.

Anybody know where Billy's new boat is?

eyezlee 03-28-2004 04:17 PM

from missouri to florida in 9 hours? SERIOUSLY?!?

ApachePete 03-28-2004 04:21 PM

Not too likely, but it could be as much as 17-20 hours, based on what Josh posted.

ApachePete 03-28-2004 04:35 PM

The officer called again and told my that the primary color of the stolen boat is white.

The boat I saw is bright yellow, with orange and blue "swirls" on the side.

Looking like it's not the same one.

Waiting for him to send a picture.

FunHome 03-28-2004 05:17 PM

What about renting a Helicopter to go up in???? I would think you could cover a lot of ground real quick with one, checking everything orange you see!!

FunHome 03-28-2004 05:24 PM

How about posting a picture of it to help out????

Doesn't someone have a picture from the Miami Show?? I looked in their web site and the only orange one I saw had a big "4" on it, was that the one???

Ron P 03-28-2004 05:40 PM

Lets catch this one folks!!!

tachyon 03-28-2004 06:49 PM

Doesn't that one have Yanmar's & ASD6's?

Roger 1 03-28-2004 07:10 PM

It`s going to be pretty hard to move it around with an "OSO APB'' on it.

It might not be a bad idea to give an all white one or one that is covered with a tarp a second look either.

tripps 03-28-2004 07:17 PM

Wild 03-28-2004 08:11 PM

That is the boat I saw this morning, I wish I would have read this post before 2pm.

Shane 03-28-2004 08:31 PM

I would say if that boat isn't on a tilt trailer, then it would be a WIDE LOAD. Wide loads are not suppose to driven between Sunset and Sunrise as well as weekends. Hopefully they have put an APB out to the State Troopers in all states.
Good Luck!

josh76 03-29-2004 12:18 AM

i hope they find the boat before anyone damages it. i cannot believe how ****ed up people are. keep us posted if anyone hears anything else on the boat.

Wild 03-29-2004 06:02 AM

It was not on a tilt trailer, it was on a normal flat trailer, and looked huge going down the highway, you cant miss it.

KiloKat 03-29-2004 06:53 AM

It was waiting for a pair of Merc 1075's so there aren't any engines under it's hatches. It's going to be quite a surprise when they open those hatches!

Formula Outlaw 03-29-2004 06:59 AM

To quote the TV "salsa" commercial, "somebody get a rope"........

KiloKat 03-29-2004 07:57 AM

Yes, new #6s.

outer42 03-29-2004 08:00 AM

when they catch the guys they should put a set of herrings on the boat and back over the bastards!!!!!!

RollWithIt 03-29-2004 09:57 AM

When it comes to thefts of stuff like this one of two things will happen. Its stripped of everything they can get or its sent out of country in whole for resale. Criminals might be dumb, but they dont steal vehicles to repaint them and keep for themselves. Its all about the profits.

THEJOKER 03-29-2004 09:59 AM

Maybe that guy in Texas stole it. He stole my buddies Phantom! BH

DoTheMath 03-29-2004 10:15 AM

I would think it would be tough to get it out of the country without any power and being that big, you can't just throw it in a container and go. That should stick out like a sore thumb, no matter where is goes!!

Damn, talk about balls!! The F*&%ers should be keel-hauled - for starters!:hothead:

hugetime1 03-29-2004 10:30 AM

i will keep an eye out for it down here.

Yep.

My guess is some central america destination, and these guys already have an organization in place at a port somewhere so that if it makes it there, its over. Buh bye.

IDRPSTF 03-29-2004 01:52 PM

Stupid Move or Great thieves? only time will tell. You have to admit that stealing an over-sized load, painted with bright colors that draws attention wherever you go, is stupid. But getting away with it, even this long is a feat in itself. And I do feel bad for the real owners!
