IN A FORUM LIKE THIS THE NUMBER ONE PREMISE THAT ALL PARTIES WHO POST OUGHT AGREE IN PRINCIPLE TO IS THAT "WE AGREE TO DISAGREE"

NO NAME CALLING ..AND IT'S DONE IN LOTS OF WAYS I CAN SEE

...For every philosopher, there exists an equal and opposite philosopher..

in other words...no 2 people are always right...

Points to ponder.......

1. I like GLH

2. I have no idea who LSMFT is........ nor do I like people posting anonymously.

3. LSMFT has asked a number of "reasonable" questions and has not actually bashed anyone except for his "insulted by much better people" crack.

4. GLH is Canadian and subject to rants and rages....unlike me.

So....... LSMFT......... let me ask you a few "reasonable, philosophical questions...for which there are no single answers".

1. Why are we?

2. From whence do we come?

3. When consuming arsenic, is it better to slug all of it at once or to sip slowly and savor the flavor?

4. How many candle power is the light one sees just before crossing over?

5. How would you differentiate yourself from some of the other blowhards that visit us from time to time? I include myself in that broad spectrum..... after all we are all "friends" ..eh?

6. While spinning around in a violent accident caused by some aspect of your boat's bottom (certainly not steps....but perhaps the color)..... is it best to remain silent and focused or to scream loudly?

7. Finally...a question I have pondered for years..... What is the fundamental difference between a prop nut?

I appreciate your time and consideration of these issues.... I surely do.

Actually.......as much as you are annoying...... your fundamental question about the relative safety of steps is a valid one......

Of course I hate the damn things myself..........

The amazing thing here is your uncanny ability to galvanize people against you.........

Weather its too much speed for the conditions or what ever, if your in control of your vessel then your chances of catastrophe are much less.At higher speed one can loose control, in anything, it has nothing to do with steps or hull design.

Just my 2cents

I'm in Corrado's corner on this one. Though I am no expert on hull design, I'd say by definition that if you flip or spin a boat when nothing broke to cause it, it is definetly driver error. Not knowing the limits of the boat is driver error. Letting a huge wake sneak up on you is driver error.

...And you've made your point at least 18 times. Enough already.

Secondly, perhaps you should examine those words more carefuly and listen to the meaning....before spouting your drivel.

For only being here 3 months, you sure have no short supply of advice for a board full of veterans and long-time members.

I'm done...please continue the bi-polar conversations with yourself.

I'd swear I've heard your crap before. I wonder who has been reincarnated.

Okay then..............

LPA2106 has survived the OSO hazing procedure.......

And has asked a question..........

Let's switch gears and try to answer it..........

Do steps and their inherent instability cause wrecks....... or do people's inability to control the inherent instability of steps cause wrecks?

T2x.............

I should be flattered that you're using my article to bolster your point.......but I'm not.

There is a time and place for everything.....this thread is neither with serious injuries involved.

LPA...start another thread if you wish to have this debate. Our thoughts and good wishes should be with those involved with this threads topic........:(

"The amazing thing here is your uncanny ability to galvanize people against you".........

why is this Tx2?

I mean geez..it's a debate...after every and any debate you shake hands and walk away like nothing happened..it's a way of brainstorming and getting your thoughts out...like a game of chess...a poker Run or any sport..debate is a sport...don't be a bad sport..

CigDaze 04-28-2004 01:21 PM

It's very simple. Steps reduce lateral resistance to motion across the water, not knowing about this is driver error.

Now, back to the bickering...
