The deal is done.

As long as it passes the survey tomorrow, witch I'm sure it will. I am driving to Nortech to pick up my new to me 5000 vee hull Nortech next Thursday. So if any of you see a white F350 cc dually pulling a 42 Sonic south from VA or North with a 50 Nortech broken down please stop. Or if you live in the Fort Myers area and want to drink a beer or 20 Friday night into Saturday, I cant stay long in Fl. I have to get back to the shop some time Monday.

I know I said I was getting an Outerlimits and I still want one but I couldn't pass up this boat and I can't find an OL I like for what I can pay. So in 3 years the madness will start again, but by then I'll be able to get a 39 with stock power going over 100 cheaper then.

mcollinstn 04-28-2004 08:12 PM

Way to go!

JnT 04-28-2004 08:15 PM

I have never ridden in a Nor Tech but the ones I have seen are incredible.Post some pics of your new toy if you can.

LapseofReason 04-28-2004 08:18 PM

Thanks I just want to get this season under my belt without popping a motor or any major thing, I just spent 20K on new lifts and 3k getting a 500 gal. gas tank at the house for this boat. If I pop a motor now I'll have to pay somebody to fix it because I am to busy with bikes to work on it and my wife will have my ass.:D

dreamboater 04-28-2004 08:24 PM

Congrats, you shouldnt be hard to spot on the Potomac.
See you out there.

LapseofReason 04-28-2004 08:26 PM

I am hoping for a real windy summer on the Potomac.:D

dreamboater 04-28-2004 08:35 PM

Something tells me it wont be windy enough for that boat, but good luck:D

Reed Jensen 04-28-2004 08:41 PM

Does it have steps?.... is it safe??..... hahahahahah.... oh wait.... wrong thread.... never mind....:D .. Congrats... happy boating...:D

LapseofReason 04-28-2004 10:03 PM

Yes it is too much boat but you only live once, as far as I know. Lapse of Reason was the only thing I could think of when I bought my 42 Sonic, so I think I'll name this one the same. Yes it's got steps but I think I'll be OK, were going to see what some 5 blades will do on it. It went 98 with some old school 4 blades from 1999 so maybe it will do 100 plus on some new props.

FeverFan 04-28-2004 10:08 PM

Congrats, do you have any pictures?

Thunder32 04-28-2004 11:09 PM

can I stop by your house and fill up my 35' Sonic??
Gas prices are ridiculous at Aquia Bay Marina in the creek ...:p :D

Sydwayz 04-28-2004 11:11 PM

Lots of new boats on the Potomac this year!!! I am hoping for a windy summer too.

Easterly toward Mattawoman Creek in the morning.
Westerly toward Woodbridge in the evenings.

Less fuel!!! :D :D :D

Monsoon will plane on one motor. It may be cheaper going thru Bravo XZs than feeding two BBCs with 87 octane

I just realized. I am going to own 3 496s if everything goes well, 1 in the Avalanche too.

Thunder32 04-28-2004 11:19 PM

hey Brian-
maybe he can install another 500 gallon tank so we can both fill up.....:D

Shah Mat 04-29-2004 03:43 AM

LapseofReason 04-29-2004 06:51 AM

I'm working on getting some better pictures, and teaching myself how to post them:D
The boat has 3-850's and #5's, gen. and all the goodies. It has one of the biggest dam stereo's I have ever seen in a boat, so it should be fun at the raft ups.

It's sitting on a 4 axle trailer so it should suck to park and turn, I'm putting a hitch on the front of my truck so I can get it in my driveway, it's already hard to get the 42 in from the rear hitch, but most of the time it will be on the lift.

Boomer 880 04-29-2004 06:57 AM

Best of luck with the new ride. Glad to hear that it all worked out well with Nortech.

Drive safely!

Jassman 04-29-2004 07:33 AM
