Next, just what numbers are we talking here?

Re: OT-forklifts
I actually considered that one. The problem is that I need to pick from 11'. That one is just short.

Re: OT-forklifts
I never bought anything from him. I sold him a used Peterbilt truck 5-6 yrs ago. He has a huge operation, but that is as much as I know. HP sounds like he has good connections. Just an option.

Re: OT-forklifts
Tim,
They're some forklift junkyards out there that will sell used transmissions. Some of these guys also sell rebuilt. Removing the transaxle is a pretty major job, unless you have another forklift there to remove the mast, and then the transaxle. $$$$$, We did a transmission on a XM (newer than a XL) model recently, as I recall, it was in the $ 2K neighborhood. Quite honestly, $ 600 isn't that great of deal with a major component bad. That machine went out of production around 10 years ago. There are ton's of used 5000# cushion tired forklifts out there, (most lift a minimum of 10 feet 10 inches) you shouldn't have too hard of a time finding a decent piece. jt |
Re: OT-forklifts
So, just where are you going to park that thing Tim?? Next to the molds in the driveway????? :D

Re: OT-forklifts
Thanks for the advice J. Guess I'll pass on that one. I was kinda liking it because it came with power steering. These older cheap machines are hard to find with power steering.
Mike-that issue has been solved! The mold will be out shortly after our loto trip. |
Re: OT-forklifts
BTW-what is a cushion tire? A solid tire is a solid tire, isn't it?

Re: OT-forklifts
cushion versus pneumatic...
we put a rebuilt trans in a CAT T120C ten years ago. It still cost $2700 for the trans and that was a swap out. They aren't cheap. If I had been slow in the shop, we'd have tried to tackle the innards ourself, but this crap always happens when you can't spare a split second... |
Re: OT-forklifts
How about a BOAT. :) I think you don't need to expend any more energy on anything but a boat. Now get cracking. This is what I think of the person who posted before me, whoever it is. :stupid: :)

Re: OT-forklifts
Cord, solid tire is a "all rubber tire" ... solid from the rim to the outer edge whereas a pneumatic tire is a tire that has either air inside like a conventional tire or is filled with foam to lessen the chance of a flat.
We have pneumatic tires on ours because it is easier to ride the lift out on the asphalt. A solid tire is really meant for smooth surfaces only like a warehouse or trucking terminal. A solid tire lift can be run outdoors but you need to be extra careful as there is no give in the tires and every bump is felt on the lift. |
