I just talked to John at the factory, and he told me that he can custom build the boat to the owner's specifications - including any and all amenities they want/require.
give him a call and let him know what you want to do.

The 28' to 30' boat class is huge! Almost every manufacture has a model.
If I were you I would ask my self these questions.
Will you be racing??
Will you have you wife and/or kids with you much?
Do you like older lines, or newer, sleeker lines?
I'm a little bias on this topic as I own a 288. I love her to. And have pushed her in some real rough stuff in north lake Ontario. Single hp500 and kept up with all the others. Was hard work but the boat impressed everyone who was out that day!
I can also speak first hand on their after market service. Just to give you a couple of examples, my boat off warranty, Sunsation shipped me a new fuel level gage free of charge! Gafrig! Another example, last summer after their Sunsation Rally, a couple Buddy's and I ran up to their plant for a tour. They welcomed us well, walked us around, spent alot of time with us! At the end of the tour, my buddy needed a hatch hinge, Joe went to the back, grabbed one, gave to him. Done, no questions! We were impressed. We already owned the boats, we weren't possible buyers, and they still treated us like millionaires!
My $.02
