4th of July Damage Report
#42
My new motors ran flawlessly.
New motors idle an gear at 600 RPM instead of 800.
Much better for docking and no wake zones.
Gained about 7 MPH ( guess )
Not the same weather conditions as last year.
Not the same load either.

lets see the motor runs like a top 67gps with a box stock 26 4 blade
On the other hand I hit a cruiser wake so hard as to pop a port window and ripped the
bildge pump out of the housing. Nothing to expensive little wet in the cabin though

Terrible weekend.. Had to gas two boats up a couple times.. Lobstah and shrimp dinner off the Key Biscayne shoreline whilst fireworks exploded overhead. Moonlit cruise home..

Actually found some time to drop the motor in and was trying to get it running for Monday. That didn't work so well.
Started to lash valves and both batteries are shot, couldn't even get the motor to turn over on with the charger on them. Good thing though , I then noticed that all the valves are hanging open slightly even with the rocker arm (Jesel) adjusters all the way loose. It seems like the new Isky lifters are slightly taller than the Crowers and now I need shorter pushrods.
It will be a couple of weeks until I can work on it again. With 60 hour work weeks and Smoke on the Water (spectating) next weekend I just don't have time to work on it.
Oh well , I guess I have snowmobile season to look forward too.

I worked all weekend on my engine swap and on Sunday I stubbed my toe on the engine stand holding my new 502. Does that count?
I said a few cus words about your coupler duing my cursing session. Is it fixed yet?

Craig and everyone, sorry to hear of the damages. Craig, if I can help, you know how to find me.
I had the toilet seat fly off hitting a big crusier wake; but it popped back on again.
