Thumbs up Re: Turbo Diesel Powered

The new Hot Boat has an article on an IMCO / HALLETT project where IMCO installed twin Yanmars coupled to their new shiftable 1000 drives.
They are now looking toward a couple Duramax engines for even more HP with less weight.

I'm curious as to who is going to marinize those Duramax engines...sounds like a winner though.

Well banks just built some really nice d-max motors with twin turbos putting out 750 hp and over 1000lbs.. Someone needs to marinize those....I would love to run a twin setup like that....

Very impressive show, I was shocked at the hp numbers, and the torque was awesome.

I too, saw that show, very cool facility Banks has. And I know that someone is presently marinizing the twin turbo Duramax, but I can't remember who is doing it!
There will be more news on this project, here, in the near future!

Now that would be cool, 1/3 less the size of a Yanmar (not as reliable) same size as a big block, you could put three of those bad boys in a 4300 Nortech. That would be over 100mph, awesome. Jeff
