Anybody know what this one is? It says Cigarette on the side - and it's small.

Wow this is an old thread but I thought I might add to it...

There was a 1987 21 Cigarette for sale up here about 8 years ago, it was rigged with a Merc 245 hp 2.5 carb motor, I do have pics of it somewhere as I almost bought it. I did take it for a test run... it ran very nice in a 8" wind chop into the wind. It was a straight V to the bottom of the hull had a power jack plate. It did have one problem I noticed which kept me from buying it... There was a crack in the gel coming from behind the piece of stainless that was bolted to the transom for strength, since I could not tell how bad this crack was and the transom knee on that side of the transom was broken off and laying on the transom floor... I passed on buying this boat. They were asking $13,000... I heard it sold for $7500 after sitting for like 4 years.

I did see it for sale on craigslist about a year or two ago in MA with the same motor with a blown powerhead.

Sure was... it was a great boat except for the transom issues I noticed and back then I did not want to get into a project boat. Here are some pics from way back after I test drove it

DjMikeyC, Thank you for the pics. Wonder where it is now ! Wouldn't mind doing some glass work. Did you feel confined being in the front seats w/ the console . Looked at some 20' Cigs w/o it, is the back seat comfrotable ? The spacer & jackplate is the way to go. How do you feel it handled during the ride ? "HIGH LIFE"

DjMikeyC, Just checked my notes and the ad did show a Ma reg on the hull. Good memory. Do you know anyone interested in a 16' DONZI O/B or a 27' MAGNUM O/B ? One is too small and the other is too big for me now. "HIGH LIFE"

HIGH LIFE - I actually liked the snug feeling of the seats with the console, only drawback was climbing in and out. I didn't have much seat time in it so handling is hard to say... what I drove it through it was nice. I did some research before I test drove it and what I found out was that it was originally rigged with a OMC 300 V8 outboard, this may be why the transom was has a crack (due to weight) coming from behind the plate that was bolted on the transom. It was also a NJ boat and used on the ocean there.

I called Cig racing back then for some info and I was told a total of 13 cig 21's were built and they were all outboards and rigged with OMC V8's. I was told they were built for a special class of racing that only used that motor. They were designed to run against the 22 Apache Scout and the 22 Velocity's of that era in that specific boat class. These 21' Cig's are different than the 20 footers as the 20 foot Cigs have the rounded bottom and the 21's have a straight V all the way down.

If it didn't have that crack and the knee brace laying on the floor I would have owned it.

HIGH LIFE - I did see that White 21 for sale with the 200 Merc. If it was closer I would have been interested in it... but not at that price with that power on it... it's gonna need more to move that boat to speeds I would like. Also makes me wonder why the cig logo on the side is above the side stripe and the one I drove had the Cig logo right on the stripe, I know the one I drove was all original, wonder if the white one was repainted or something. I also remember seeing that boat for sale a few years back in Ohio but I was too late when I saw the ad it was already sold.

There was an all white 21 for sale in FL with a Evinrude V8 outboard, this boat was pristine! I have seen a few over the years most all had OMC V8's on them, all were white or red.

I did see a red one for sale someone converted to an I/O with a big block chevy and a trs drive... that was cool.
