Re: Cat Insurance?????
I only have a 26' Eliminator and I use First Marine Insurance. $625 a year, with a $500 deductiable!! I have 15years boating experience and have owned and insured cats since 1995. Never a claim, or accident, they have been my insurer for 15 years.
They tell me that any boat over 25' goes on a "Yacht" policy, and that is why their insurance is much cheaper.
573-348-2743 is their contact information, and I think that they only write in the midwest.
I sold my old 25' eliminator cat, and the new owner uses Farm Bureau out of St. Louis and he only pays $680 a year.

Chuck,
I will ask Bruce Miller the info on his 36 Spectre. That might be a little more apples to apples for you. (36 Nortech)

My phone is 866-805-3691 and I did try calling you.
First Marine is a great company. If you venture a look at the policy it might say Markel on it. First Marine is also a Markel agent (along with being an insurance company). Great Folks in Missouri.
Yes I did work for Markel, until February I was the Director of Marine Insurance. I resigned to take the opportunity to become Vice President, Sales and Marketing for American Marine Insurance Services, who has been doing performance boat insurance since 1988.
I am not cutting on ANPAC, they are an excellent personal lines company, I am simply saying they don't understand what your boat is because they don't do a lot of boats or performance boats. Someone else summed up what could happen if a claim occurs. Pricing varies by speed, the faster the boat, the more the cost, v-hull or cat. Simply put Cats just go faster with less power. The very speed calculator used by Markel can be found at http://go-fast.com/boat_speed_predictions.htm While the speeds might not be exactly accurate they will be a predictor of speed and equate to dollars.
Hope that helps
