Default L.I. Engine Builders??

Can anyone from the Long Island New York area recommend a local engine builder who I can speak with about building a reliable 425HP+ engine.

There is also MRD and Zul, but I don't think they'd be interested.
425 is not that much of an upgrade. What are you starting with?
Puder would know, but I think he'd point you to TOMFTM too.
And Toms OL is nice too, he was at the MB poker run.
You shoulda asked this question a week ago.

I agree...Falcon High Performance in Hampton Bays will build also, but it might be too small for them too. Why not just get the Merc 496HO? It's a great engine for that HP range.

When I say 425+ I mean I would also go higher I just want reliability. My only problem with just dropping in a merc is that the boat has a volvo in it. I am pretty sure that limits me on my options...

Would any of these guys even work on Volvos?
Richie Zul is a very nice guy.
There were some boats w/ MRDs at the run also.
