Re: Latest Hurricane?
We seem to have gotten by okay. We actually had the worst winds during the middle of the night last night (Sunday) and still going pretty strong now. We were very fortunate and never lost power which is amazing.
Just saw on the news that up at the "bayfront" by Marina Jacks, where all the sailbotes anchor out, is literally strewn with boats, sail and power. The newscaster reporting with the video said she could count at least 20 or more boats up on the beach/rocks and probably ten more that have sunk at their moorings. Nearby residents reported that as of dark last night, only two had beached themselves, the rest all happened overnight.
Seas are now reported at 7 to 12 feet.
And now "Ivan" is churning it's way towards us. It's following "Charlies" footsteps. Coming right at us. Supposed to be "wherever" by next weekend. Talk about living at the end of a bowling alley.

Re: Latest Hurricane?
Finally the rain has stopped here, but there is mass flooding in the Tampa Bay area and the outlying communities. Several retention ponds have given, and they are showing footage of folks jet-skiing down Bayshore Blvd.
The people in Haiti need to start doing the dam rain dance NOW, because I really don't want to deal with Ivan next weekend.....
