I also know the pain and frustration of having a father with cancer.
I lost my dad 3 years ago to liver and lung cancer. (He was not a smoker or a drinker) He underwent a major operation out in Chicago to remove part of his liver. We almost lost him then, but he was a fighter. He was able to live for 2 years after that operation, but not a great quality of life.
I only regret that I should have spent more time with him toward the end. Even if its just sitting next to him and watching tv or playing a board game.
Spend some quality time with your dad and show him how much you love him.

I will say a prayer for your father when I go to church before work tomorrow. These old guys are tough and tend to bounce back, even though it takes a little longer than we would like.
