Famous resident of Thunderboat Row.

The most famous person who ever lived (resided) on N.E. 188th St., "Thunderboat Row" lived there from 1961 to 1964, in a houseboat behind Scottie Craft (later Signature, Pantera, USA, Apache prototype, etc.). If you can answer this one, you are definitely in with "In Crowd". Who was it? I'll put up a prize of an unreleased 8" x 10" Jim Wynne and me in the first two Donzi 16's. I'll autograph, but Jim can't.

Brownie

The dates throw me off....if it were ten years later I would think it would be Byng Goode.....also the most famous person wouldn't apply either.

No, but I went there from time to time to help further their career. You might say I supplied some valuable input to their persona.

Ok Brownie here is one for you. Who has the naked picture of her that was taken in the back of the Old Cigarette truck that Knocky drove? And what famous celebrity that was performing at The Fountainbleu made an hour long stop at her place and came out all smiles?

Hi Brownie -

How is the book coming along? I sent you a few stories a while back and it sounded like you were getting close. I can't wait to buy a copy.

Sean -

The clue has me more puzzled than the question. In the early days, other than James Cann, I can't think of any other star hanging around the race teams.

So with the exception of the clue, I know Buddy Hackett and Bill Cosby hung out at Turnberry Isle quite a bit, but that was probably 10 years later.

Ahh I see! I remember it being the Bermuda Triangle race now that you reminded me.

Didn't know it was his daughter.

Still pretty good for a guy who was quite young when those races took place!

Thanks for the refresher!

BLee 10-06-2004 06:56 PM

Re: Famous resident of Thunderboat Row.

Yes if you watch the video she is introduced as Allez Vite or something VERY close to that. I thought maybe that was where the raceboats' name came from, but found out it wasn't. OSO offers the DVD with a new membership. Check it out! :drink:

Okay Sean - Being the trivia king, you probably know this one as well:

In Don Aronow's last office on 188th Street, there were a lot of trophies and a lot of pictures of Don with celebrities. Of those pictures, five pictures come to mind.

Hint: Don dated at least one of the guys wives before they married.
