This has to be the funniest thread I have ever seen!
My Dad has a deep hate for sail boaters (even though we actually owned one at one time). Now I know why. He spent a lot of time in SF Bay, and the Golden Gate. He recently told me some stories about sail boaters turning right in front of him, so he would have to take evasive maneuvers. They would come up right behind him while he was fishing, and then drag the lines with their keel.
He also mentioned the time when two sail boats, the only boats in the entire San Pablo Bay, slammed into each other head on!
Another time, a sail boater tacked, and slammed right into an anchored aircraft carrier. The sail boat had to towed away. No damage to the air craft carrier.
