Truly devastating. Thoughts and prayers for the entire family and organization.

I might be able to clear up some confusion, right after the race, they announced that the details were still unclear, but that possibly 7 had perished. This morning the 12 were identified.

My father is a pilot and explained the terrain to me. The airport has mountains around it. While obviously this is speculation, he wonders if perhaps the fog was a factor and that after they weren't given clearance to land, the plane wasn't at the proper altitude to clear the tops of the mountains.

Whatever the circumstances where, this is a tragedy of major proportions. The family has recently been through a lot and I can't imagine the dispair.

Prayers to all of them.

Very Sad indeed. My condolences to those affected.

My wife knew the pilot if the information and names are accurate, he flew for a US Air commuter a while back. Met him a couple times.

There were 10 people on the plane, not 12. The Hendrick family and organization has had a terible loss! My deepest sympathies go out to family and friends.

My dad was Paul Smith. We raced Comp Hydro back then. I think Rick was running Unblown Gas and the had Jimmy diving the Fueler at the same time. I was at the race that Jimmy crashed.

A terrible tradgedy. My prayers are with them.
