Thanks to all.
The 22 classic would be my choice but I need a small cabin so my 2 little guys 4 & 8 can out of the sun or rain.
I checked the Baja web site, no sighn of any 23 outlaw. Here in sarasota Thunder marine would probably mark it up 5 times of the real price anyway.
Last may they listed a 25 out law W/496 HO nothing special For 86K.When u call they dont admit any mistake, they just try to get u to spend 86K.
BAIT & SWITCH!!!!
Any way I am thinking AVANTI .Are they made good? do they have a desent cuddy?

The 23 Outlaw is not on their site, but it is in the '05 brochure. I bought the new Baja 245. Very good deal, i think. 24'5''..4150 lbs...496 Mag, dual ram tabs, Corsa, drop down bolsters, etc. Runs an honest 65 and is good in the slop. retail was 63k w/trailer. My deal was @ 24% off that. Just another thought, if you were looking at new. Oh yeah, nice cuddy w/potti for the kids.

I liked the 22 classic also. But my wife likes to hang out on the sunpad. I also liked the swim platform and ladder on the 22 Scarab. Doug

Velocity,

Offered in OB and I/O configs

Very good riding boat for the size.

I had a mid 80's model with a V8 Johnson and loved the boat. Mid to low 70's and could run with all my friends in the rough that had a 26 or smaller.

There was a change in hull design some time along the years, but I'm not sure of the year.

There is a cult following on these boats and I'm told the older ones were better rough water boats, but dont know much more than that.

the only downfall to the avanti is the re-sale...and only because its not a big name boat. built right here in jersey...loved mine but was spending alot of time in the ocean...ya may want to consider looking at some 24's...the difference is huge not only in ride but in whats available..now ya have pantera, superboat, baja, checkmate etc...good luck in your decision. if i were buying a 22 i'd purchased a pre-owned avanti as long as the price is right

Have you ever seen a Chris Craft Stinger 222?? Very cool little boat. nice size cabin. Mine has a 3 man bolster with center steering and two jump seats in the rear on each side of the engine. If you dont have more then 3 people going you can use the seat cushions to make one big sun pad....neat design and they are fairly cheap to buy if you can find one. :D

How about a 25 (23'7" overall) Sunsation?

heres a pic of the sun pad on my boat......its getting redone over the winter so pay no attention to how bad it looks! :)

as you can imagine with all the pads inplace its a nice size sun pad......and with the sides removed you can make forward or rear facing jump seats! :D

Right on Doug, The 22' Scarab is the best 22 of the Bunch. I don't see what everyone sees in the Donzi. I drove 70 miles to look at the 22 Donzi before buying my Scarab and I don't ever remember being more disappointed about anything in my life. I mean I hated the way it looked, I hated the way it drove, It was rougher than my old inboard ski boat and about as fast. It was supposed to be built better but it wasn't. It had all the same gel crack as every other boat I looked at. I'm sorry but the Donzi has nothing on the Scarab and I later found out nothing for the Scarab.
