I know of one locally that has a procharged 502 in it running over 80
Thing is scary when all you see is the drive in the water.
Nice boats, but honestly size does matter when running speeds like this.
He had to add on tabs to overcome the extra weight in the back.

Since Kurt hasn't answered, and I have about an hour of driving time in his boat a month or so ago (thanks Kurt!!) I'd say the drive line in his boat is in great condition. The boat has an Alpha SS on it... I'd still be leary of putting a LOT of hp in front of that drive.

Biggus, care to add to that??

I have a 1989 SeaRay 260 (27.6" LOA) with a 454 Merc & Bravo 1 that does a solid 46mph. According to what I've seen and heard, it has the same hull design and construction as the same size Pachanga. Any truth in that?

I forgot to mention that the boat has 790 hours on the original motor/drive.

BTW, this site rocks!

the 260 OVand 260 cuddy were the same bottom, tho not the 27 Pac bottom. the Pac had another set of strakes and I believe another degree or two of deadrise.

How about a 260 Overnighter with a twin turbo BB running low 70's...
Don, an older guy, loved the sleeper effect.
This was early 90's

My 27 stock ran 59 mph @ 4900 with a single 454 Mag.
Ran low 70's with a supercharged Mag.

I put that engine in a 26 Thoroughbred and picked up 15 MPH !!

I still miss my 22'

I've got a ton of pics of Pacs. I'll have to scan 'em

I believe it was a labbed 19 or 21 Mirage (it was more than ten years ago ). Stock Mags are right on the power @ 4900/5000

I just sold mine and had a 620HP EFI built from Arizona Speed injection which is similiar to the HP500efi injection. It was an excellent runner and would easily do into the high 80's and we were still dialing it in when someone decided that they wanted it but with the stock power. Even with the old stock 330hp 454 it would do 62 gps.

Thank God someone else said it first.... mine did 62 tops as well.... Alpina... was that GPS in the high 80s? That is amazing. I didnt think it would get there! Great Boat, way ahead of it's time.... it faded away just like the old Four Winns Liberator series. The Pachanga was heavy though if I remember correctly. It must be a hairy ride at 85?
