The Pacs were much more nicely done than the Liberator. Looked at both at the time. My '89 330/Bravo 22' would run a real 65mph on a 25" mirage.

Thanks for the replies guys. Our boat currently has a stock 350 Magnum. I've tried many props and found it to run the best with a 23 Lazer II @4900 rpm. Most of the time it's just me or one other person on board.

A buddy has a 170 hr 1997 454 Mag available for a good deal

Waterfoul, last spring I took the Alpha SS drive off and put a std 1.50 Alpha in it's place. They must have a pretty high stock X dimention because it runs faster with the longer drive.

Pachangalpina, how did it handle at 80+???

Kurt~ I had an '87 w/ the 350 Mag in it, swapped the stock cleaver for a Turbo 1 and it ran MUCH better, used to see about 60 in the right conditions. I was young when I got it (brand new - thanks Dad! ) it ran great, (and I ran it hard on Lake Winni) up until it was stolen - yes stolen - never had a problem with it, except... The last summer I had it (1991), the transom right above the assembly on the inside started to show a crack, not sure if it was superficial or if it was deeper. I left it at the marina that fall to have it looked at and winterized and someone decided they wanted it more. So, they hooked up to it and drove off, (recovered many months later in NJ., yada-yada). But it was stable as hell and could have stood more power for sure! Good luck with it, I loved that little boat

At 80+ it was definately a two hander and 110% attention. I had a single ram imco external steering but would have been better with the full hyd. When I sold it we were still playing with different props and found that the cleaver style worked the best, but felt that we need just a bit more to get the boat smoothed out. I decided that was more than I needed in this boat for the water conditions by me and decided to save that motor to match up with another to go in my Fountain. My wife enjoyed that boat during the week but on the weekends we got beat-up and decided the Fountian could handle anything on our lake. The Pachanga was a rocket and I miss it already.

I have an 89 with a new Imco Bravo and Imco single ram steering, it runs 66 mph on GPS with a 330 ( it has a intake and carb..... that I doubt do a thing ). I am waiting for the new engine, an aluminum head 502 that I will add Imco powerflow exhaust to. I am hopeing for 80+ mph, the motor should make about 530hp.
I know of an 88 with an Merc HP 465 that runs 77-78 mph, it has a Land and Sea stern jack...... an addition mine will never see.
I worked for sea ray for 5 years...... at the end of Pachanga time till 95... no problems. We had one with a 454 Mag and a B&M 174 Blower, it ran 88 mph. They are easy to drive at speed. ( I am used to Allisons and STV's though ).
