The Essential Fabio
Fabio gave George Linder and me copies of his autobiograhy in English and Italian. It is one of the funniest books I have ever read and he does everything with tongue in cheek.
During the Key West World's in the late 80's i interviewed him on camera before the driver's meeting. He had built both catamaran and vee bottom entries for various teams and I asked him which he preferred. He went on and on about the superiority of the Vee design and that he felt it was the future of Offshore racing, making a very strong argument in the process. A few hours later we imterviewed him in almost the same spot, and asked him almost the same question. He proceeded to perfectly articulate why he preferred Catamarans and how he believed in them "for dee future". That, in a nutshell, is how little he actually divulges to anyone.
