Yo! Steve.....

When I was born, the Dead Sea only had a slight cough...
Big Dirty "borrowed" a 427 H&M from the 'Blue Devil'. Medium riser with Weber 57mms. He shortened the bell crank that opened the carbs, and his #14 brogan shoes were a little too much for the linkage. It went over center (wide open) as he blipped the throttle after winning the heat as he came into the pits. He hit the Kiekhaefer fuel dock, the seawall, the ambulance and then the pit crane. The boat dropped (like Charlie Sheen in 'Hot Shots'). He climbed out, went to the ambulance driver and chewed him out for parking there....
I sure miss Big Dirty and a few dozen others.

Roflmao.... " shortened the bell crank that opened the carbs".... I take it the throttle was a little "touchy". LMAO " Brogans"..... last time I heard that term was in England in '83.... The sales clerk at the shoe store refered to them as " brothel creepers".... lmao..........

Its really cool to see some of these old boats. Reminds me of how I fell in love with the offshore gofasts. My Grandmother already owned the boat marina before I was born so I got to grow up with boats around me. I can still remember the lines on a old, maybe late 70's to 80ish Wellcraft that was at the marina. Granted its not like an old cig. But growing up in Pittsburgh, it was close enough. Perhaps this is why I still love the lines of the old eighties boats and the classic paint.
