Tony, my husband Rob & I stayed at the new marina this summer next to the Casino (forget the name of it). We'll be back up there on vacation in Sandusky Bay area the first week of August and Kelly's the 2nd weekend of August, at least that's the plan.

My husband Rob joined this site a few months back and he keeps tesasing me that I use it more than he does. I really should get my own handle like the other ladies on the board.

Rob and I live in Fairport Harbor, OH. He's 33, I'm 43 and we've been married almost 2 years and own a condo on Lake Erie. Rob bought our 1988 Chris Craft Stinger 7 years ago. He's done some new paint schemes over the years, however when we met 3 winters ago we redid the entire cabin, last year we rebuilt the motors and this year we're repainting, new windshield and other extras here and there. I really am hoping next winter we can relax:-))

We are fortunate to have met a great number of boaters that we now consider our wonderful friends, and slowly are introducing some of our "land friends" to boating so they can see what all the excitement is about.

OSO has a lot of great information and there are days I read some of these posts and cry from laughing so hard.

Lurker?? Maybe? My name is Russ/ wife Faith, 3 boys (3,6,8, I,m the oldest "boy" at 33). Known about the site for a year or 2, but started visiting regularly 2-3 months ago. Fairly regular poster since then. Grew up with bass boats in the family but at 22 bought my first. (26 Bayliner) For 11 years we owned 8, all 29-35 ft cruisers except a 21 open-bow.

Sept. 04 (join date) we sold both boats and bought a 98 Formula 312. This summers local poker run in a 38 Fountain finally convinced my wife we needed a faster boat!

My family owns a commercial printing co in Richmond VA. We do most of our boating on the James/Chickihominy rivers. Bought the performance boat to cover more water and visit more places.

Keep your fingers croseed. Trying to add pics of the boat and Tow vehicle (if you can find it in the second photo!)

Hi Everybody,
I do some posting on the Nordic forum where I've met some nice people, who've given me some pretty good advice on my boat. I currently have a 28' Nordic and I'll try to post a picture. Some of you may know me from Scream and Fly (like Ospreyproduction/good guy). I've drag raced boats since the late 70s. Bought my first offshore style boat a few years ago, and really enjoy the party and poker run scene with the big boats.
I turned 50 (ouch) this year and finally hung up the race helmet and sold the rocket ride.
I live in Old Hickory, TN (suburban Nashville), near the lake of the same name. We really have a terriffic group of boaters here who poker run, lake race, and party. I am married to a great gal (Tonya), who owns her own business. I am a factory rep for a shoe company.
Regards,
Steve

Hi, my name is Mark, I've been a boataholic for 37 years now. I've been seeking treatment for sometime now but the addiction seems to keep coming back... :drink:

I don't know if 225 plus posts in 4 months constitutes lurking? I'm sure one of the supreme-O-postwhore's will chime in and let us know.

I currently own a Baja 265 Force that never leaves the dock because I have 2 Cigarette's to ride on in the Poker Runs (Brothers). I am currently looking to move up into a Cigarette (sorry LS jr. a little out of my range) but haven't found the right one. Oh yeah, and I still own a Baja too.

I realized that I forgot my name after I hit submit. My name is Barb!

Portside, that's the name of it. We were really impressed with that marina. We did however have a blast at Casino later that evening...the nice thing was to be able to leave all the wild and crazy @ 2AM and head next door to the quiet marina:-))

Maybe we'll see you sometime this summer.

Lurker, yes I am, But Ive learned so much about high performance boating and boats from everyone on this site..Ive been boating for about 30yrs, but just got into fast boats 2years ago with a Classic 16 Donzi powered by a 305v-8. I sold it after the wife admitted it scared her..boat to small and fast for our waters. But, this year I just bought a 24ft Superboat, with the 502 mpi. I cant wait to use it. I also am into antique boats and currently own a 1957 Helton runabout, molded mahagony. Its a piece of furniture I rarely take out. I work for an airline, as an inspector..I plan on lurking more in the future..

My passion has always been performance boats, and I have a biased towards the "older-styled" boats with the hard lines of the old cigs, apaches, sutphens, pantera, powerplay, etc....

I have a black on black 18 Donzi classic. The boat is ran primarily on Lake Minnetonka. Have gone through two engines and three drives, and am seriously considering dropping in a new factory Mercruiser coupled to an ASD #6. George Desmond's Donzi looks like the way to go! I will post some pics of it when I find some. I also captain 2 Cary 70s and a Cary 50 down here in s. fla. I loved reading some of the posts about the old Carys and Cobras and whatnot. I never get tired of looking at pics of the old Cobras and small Carys and flatdeck Cigs.

I see some of you guys boat down here in the Miami, N. Miami area all the time, and maybe now would stop and say "hi" to a fellow OSO'er!!

Definitely a lurker. I scan the forums several times per week and have learned a great deal from the posts. I have a 42 Fountain which we boat on Old Hickory Lake (Nashville). I'm 43 yrs old and grew up on this lake. Also spent 7 years in Baltimore boating on the Chesapeake. Planning to eventually build in Cape Coral, FL where we have a direct access lot (dock being built now after waiting a year for a permit !). My name is Mike and I'm in Medical Diagnostic sales.

It is great to see you all coming out of the woodworks. Sometimes those first few posts are tough. Everybody thinks that "the next guy knows more or thinks he does". WRONG- Post what you think, what you feel, or just chime in where there is a topic that you would like to comment on. NO-ONE is an expert, I have seen even the best in the industry learn a couple from someone else.

It's funny, quite often at boat shows or public events I will get a person pass me at a great rate of speed and in the brief moment that they stop they say "Hi, my name is xxxx, I am a lurker on your site and love the site, nice to meet you". Before I even get a chance to say, "why don't you post" they have already taken off" What's up with that???

Great to see you all being active, that is what this is all about.

For those of you Lake Erie boaters, do you know about LEOPA. It's a great club with a lot of trips and poker runs plus they spend a lot of time on the islands :drink: They had a really good poker run the last weekend in July, it was our first time (not even expensive) we definitely plan on attending this years run. They are having a big party on the 22nd of this month, so if anyone is interested in more info let me know and I will get it to you. Donna.

PS For those of you on Lake MI, COPS is also a really good group. Being from Chicago is not important we have members from all over Lake MI, I can get you info on that group as well.

I listed their web site below, it stands for Lake Erie offshore performance association. A lot of their activities originate out of the Toledo area. The website has not been updated with all of next years activities yet In addition to the 3 poker runs in June, July(the big one) and Sept. they have several overnight trips a season. With the exception of LEOPAJM, GlassDave, Madcow, and sometimes Wicked One, and Half Nutz they don't post here to often. Ian and I have only gone on a few outings but they seem to be a very well run and nice group. We plan on going to the change of watch party, Half Nutz (Dan) will be inducted as the new commodore for 2005.

We met Roger at the run, he even took a spin on our boat. If you can believe this we kept running into him at the bars in Key West
