Did TimG delete his thread?

No, probably just the typical story of a sixteen year old kid running off at the mouth about sh@# he doesn't have a clue about and then calling his buddy Tim G really quick and telling him to delete the thread because he saw that he looked like an idiot. Sat by and watched as the whole thing went down. The most peculiar thing about it is I could of swore several months ago when I was a mere lurker he was always talking about how he wanted/liked that boat? If I have screen names confused I apologize. Somebody please correct me if I am wrong. If I am not wrong, JR better stick to car sales because you can't get away with that type of stuff in the powerboating world it is just way too small of a world. I know for one I wouldn't buy a boat from him or a car for that matter. Also it would be wise of his father to make him get his own screen name as I often find myself confused as to which one it is SR or JR? Oh well what the hell do I know though I don't even own an Apache? :D

Call Tim G? What a bunch of $h!t, I was actually hoping he left it up to see what everyone had to say! Running my mouth? How about the truth! We looked that boat over for a good 3 hrs! Yes, we were excited about it, but it was still in the condition it is today. I appreciate Chad's insight and help, but he has never seen the boat, nor have you!

Why don't you identify yourself.....I always think it's funny how you are always on Chad's threads.......hhhmmmm.......

You don't even own an Apache...you probably don't own a boat.

Thanks Sling. I'm standing by what I said 110%. Nothing I said was false. I didn't list anything that wasn't true either. Bottom line, the boat is rough. What's so hard about understanding that?

LS,

I deleted the thread as I found it becoming a little counter productive. A boat that is not rough and member that is not a bad guy both started to take a lot of heat over a thread that was supposed to be about something else.

No, not me...
I figured Steve deleted it because of the way things turned...

All I did was post a picture of a nice big Cigar boat.. It was shiny, and pretty...and I thought you guys would like to look at it too.... :drink:
The boat looked pretty good to me, though I have not sen under the cover.

cuda 01-11-2005 08:05 AM

Re: Did TimG delete his thread?

I agree with Steve. It's not up to a member to pass judgement on another member's boat. What you might label rough another person might see otherwise, but by you calling it rough another person might not bother to look at it, evern though it may be acceptable to him.

I thought it was wrong when I first read it.

Well, I agree Formula Outlaw. Why did Chad have to start this thread then? I would have let it go. I'm an easy kid to get along with, ask anyone who knwos me. Ovbiously if it's not on the board it's been deleted. I'm sure you know that Chad

Cuda, yeah, I went a little to into detail, but it's just my opinion. What happens if someone asks about a boat in the Cig forum, and it's not real nice. Should I tell them it's a beauty?

Re: Did TimG delete his thread?

LS, Jr. - you are correct, i have not seen the boat in person. however, i've talked to a few people that have....all of which said that it was a well maintained, clean, structurally sound and had a lot of potential to be a great contender at the poker runs. in fact, your emails after you and your father viewed the boat, provided me with as much of an positive opinion on the boat as anything. that is why i found it so odd that you were to change your opinion of the boat. the reason i posted this thread is to clear up any controversy regarding the Maxx boat.....as i said in the thread that got deleted, i could see myself owning that boat and the last thing i want is to have to deal with buying/selling a boat that has a falsified reputation as rough. to be honest, i kind of thought you were being sarcastic when you were describing the boat and the rigging in the previous thread.

BTW, how many times do I have to tell you???......i'm not Sleeper!   believe me, if i don't agree with you, you'll be the first to know it and i'll be the first to say it. i don't play games. if you have a problem w/ this request, call me at the office (217.965.5496) or call me on my cell (217.556.8335). don't take this the wrong way, I'm not mad, but i'm a little pissed that you keep pushing another person off on me. now......i'm sure this is going to be the last time you accuse me of being Sleeper, right?

No Chad, I'm not accusing you of being Sleeper. I know you don't have anything to hide. It's a just a little weird. Whatever, that's not what this is about.

Look, I don't want to keep saying what is wrong with the boat becuase it's useless. No, I was not being sarcastic, it was the truth. For a 2000, we expected the boat to be a lot nicer, that's all. It wasn't raced much and the owner rarely used it. We just expected it to be nicer........I figure if your going to race a boat you would want all the best parts....

alright folks, let's slow this train down. in keeping with the orginal purpose of this thread, in no way am i questioning bobby's judgement, opinion or integrity. however, i am questioning why he is so anti-Maxx when just a few short months ago he was pro-Maxx. what caused the flip flop? i was and still am currently under the impression that the Maxx boat is not a "rough" boat. perhaps since i've been lucky enough to own 1 of the 4 F2's, and have seen 3 of the 4 in person, i'm a little passionate when it comes to this subject. the last thing i want to see is any one of the 4 with an undeserving bad rap.

I know when shopping (long distance, last month) and wanted an impartial, unbiased opinion on a boat I was interested in, I approached someone privately, who was in my eyes probably more of a perfectionist than myself. Someone with IMO very high standards. It was all handled via email and PMs and I made it clear to them I would never take his word gold or as the final say. Only I could make that decision. I also assured this person they'd not be blamed or faulted for any descrepancies between their and my opinions, if any. This a completely objective. It was totally done as a favor and much appreciated time spent by someone. BTW THANKS MITCH! :D

I know Bobby personally and think highly of his knowledge and opinions on Cigarettes. I certainly feel I can have a meaningful and adult conversation with him about these boats. Everyone is entitled to their opinions. Censorship here may be good for some but bad for others. When someone places a boat on the market in such a forum as this, they must expect positive and/or negative comments. As others have said, these are opinions and should be taken as such. Each one of us have different standards, that's life. Each one of us should make our own final decision on whether something is "rough" or "clean." I for one would like to know the opinions of others that have personally been on a particular boat that I may be considering for purchase.

I would expect nothing but honesty from Bobby. I don't believe he has any personal agenda here. (other than trying to sell his boat--hehehe :D ) I didn't read the thread before poofing or personally seen the Maxx boat, but if I was considering the boat I'd feel some thinks its rough and others thinks its clean, simple as that. Then make a decision whether to call the owner, get some pictures e-mailed, and make a decision whether I want to see the boat myself.........CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG????????? :D

Re: Did TimG delete his thread?

I have alot of knowledge of Cigarettes and other boats. Ive owned 22 boats thru the years !! I must defend the Maxx. The previous owner, which is a friend of mine, was as METICULOUS as anyone Ive ever met about everything in life, including his boat. He sold it to a good friend of mine who will take just as good of care of that boat as anyone on this board. As far as set up...to each his own... who cares. The boat was detuned and re rigged to be user friendly.. not raced and top end. There are a few things on the boat that turned me off, but thats my personal liking not the boats fault. The rigging is just fine the boat is in great shape. It needs the old race stickers and paint removed, and a good, good buffing and that thing would be mint. Sorry to disagree with you Bobby, But I crawled over that thing for a whole summer(not 3 hours) because I was considering buying it. My decision not to buy it was based on the F-2 set up not being what I needed. Not the rigging and being rough. You will look at things alot different when you are spending your own money, not living thru Daddy and still collecting an allowance for milk money. Sorry, I had to pick on you a little

GEEEZE Bobby, go back and look at what you say about your dads boat and then take a real good look at it. Its all in the eyes of the beholder

Now get back to class You have to behave until I get down there and take you out of school to go boating

I don't know how to respond to this Bob. I'm not going to waste my time talking about the boat. I never said we wouldn't buy it becuase of the condition but it just wasn't as nice as we thought it would be. I don't know how you can say the rigging was fine. The boat was rigged in 1-2 days. I'd like to ask Tres Martin how it took him to rig the Team Virgin boat.

Now, about our boat-Craig Barrie came and looked at it for someone on the West Coast. The customer said Craig couldn't think of one thing negative to say about it. It doesn't get better than that....

Like Frank said, if you don't want your boat critisized then don't put it on here.

Chad,

We would be all over a cat but it would not work for us here in FL. In NJ, it would have.

Really, the only F2 we wanted was MAXX and that is sold. Figuring that F2s are old race boats with no cabin, I figure you would be better off with a Gladiator becuase they are a true pleasure boat without a cabin, if you don't mind the sit-down. Plus, I think G wants to much money for his boat, we all know what he paid!

Anyways, were going to go look at a 2004 Gladiator with Staggered 525s either later today or Monday hopefully. It needs some work so I figure a bargain would be $140k. However, someone told me Spitfire1 sold his boat for $135k needing nothing so I've been trying to get ahold of his for the past 2 days to see if this is true.

Yes, unique...That is what I like about the F-2's. Why couldn't they build more of them!!! The owner said it is very clean also. I will take a ride down to his house one weekend. I have been looking at the dash of yours and G's..Maxx has a different setup...Why? If you don't recall it, I attached a pic for you. Also any idea which gauges are on the nav station. I don't have a clue. If we sold our boat tomorrow, I couldn't find a replacement other than Maxx. I saw a pic of the Fanny Doctor without the girl and number..I kinda liked the girl...HA! It was a little awkward. $97k was a steal, or what ever it was.

Thanks,
Bobby

Chad, I'm not changing my story. I still feel the same way I did when I looked at it. It has the set-up we want but it wasn't in the condition we really wanted. It is all fixable, just depends on how much $$$ you have to spend. Yes, I was excited after viewing it, HOW COULD YOU NOT BE? The boat looked much better (appearence wise) then the pics. If the boat would still be for sale it would still be on our list but it's NOT. I'm not trying to give the boat a bad rap, but you can't compare it to the other 3. It's just not the same caliber.

Tbone-Forumla Outlaw gave great advice and I'm trying to drop it, but Chad keeps bringing this up. If you want to know exactly how I feel Chad, give me a call 954-328-2022 and we can dicuss this like men instead of over a computer.

Thanks,
Bobby

Well no offense intended LS JR., but I can see why Chad is questioning you after reading these emails. They sure do sing quite a different tune than the one you were singing yesterday and continue to sing today. Just learn from your mistakes JR. and keep that kind of talk for email or pm. My .02

Different tune? You may want to re-read what Chad posted. The only thing I ever said to Chad in our e-mails about the boat was this:
