Re: ~ Towing High Speed ~

I tow nearly every day...
Current towed load is 9000.
Brakes are not currently working on the trailer.
I run 70 on the highways near here (SE FL).
Big thunbs up to the brakes on the F-250.
I had it to 85 the other day, but that was with a 20+ mph tail wind.

I've pulled my old Wells Cargo 24' enclosed trailer well over 100mph for extended periods... Good electric brakes on the trailer.... and a tuned in 454 TBI.... 5 mpgs...

I have never gotten myself into a situation due to excessive speed....

Worst "situation":
I-95 coming north out of Miami.
my old '00 GMC crew dually 4x4
42 Tiger, steel Myco
pair of 900 Sterlings in the bed of the truck
Back of the truck imitating a low rider.
50 mph
Some idiot decides to throw his car into a spin in the fast lane (4 lane road). The spin takes him across the road right in front of me.
My foot hit the brake, mashed to the floor.
Apparently no brakes on this Myco...
Near miss! I made a SWEET evasive maneuver while my brake was mashed to the floor... Saved the day.
Blew all the belts in the drives front tire. It held air. I finished my trip to Lauderdale...thumping away..
The tire tore up all the bushings in the front end in those 25 miles....

My stock Duramax has no problem pulling 8500lb right to the limiter...all day long...
