Kind of feel obligated to give'em a bit of grief, since there is some relationship to "The Boat Company That Must Not Be Named" :D

Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
In the A.T. section,, Massive Thunder clearly states that all A.T's will now be called Chiefs, but that does not answer the question if A.T. is still building the 28, 32, 37 ???? IS the Active Thunder name no more ???

Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
Mike the ATs will now bear the name of Chief Powerboats and be built under that banner
The hulls them selfs will not change any time soon, only the branding We are functioning under one name combining a number of talents to create a stronger boat company that offers a full line of boats from 28' to 47' |

Now I own a collectors item! Does that make it worth more or less? All kidding aside...hats off to Marc, Pat and the gang for putting together a winning combination! Can't wait to see it at SOTW 2005! |
Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
I have been told from a good source that the A.T. brand name is not going away. Don't get your panties in a wad over this and lets see how it plays out.

Is Stinson still involved, I see he's not listed on the "staff" page (though it looks like you guys are pressed for space in that area)? |

I'll be glad to sell you a 28 for a tick over half that and you can have it tomorrow. :D I would like to move up to a bigger A.T. or Chief or A.T. |
Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
Boatme,
You know, I'm a little bummed you call the 37' model the 37 Warhawk. You think you could bump up the Warhawk name to the 42' model ????? The WarHawk is a 41' Apache. Changing the models around would REALLY help me avoid some confusion at all the local watering holes. As it is now I'll have to explain to people that my boat is an Apache, not a Chief, AND(as if I need the distraction while trying to have a few Rum and Cokes) explain that my boat really is 41' long. If you made the 42' the WarHawk model I would only have to explain the different manufacturers involved, not go into a long dissertation about hull length thereby leaving me more time for Rum and Cokes and chicken wings. Never-mind the confusion for the people that bought our 2 previous Cigarette 38's(86,88 model years) that were called WarHawk. Those poor people are going to have alot of explaining to do. Not a Chief, not an Apache and not 37' long. The confusion at the local Shooters could hit historic levels. For the sake of the Bacardi Corporation, please, consider my proposal. |

Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
Congrtulations! Great looking boat. I'm anxious to hear more about the AT/Chief connection as AT is an AWESOME boat in and of itself! I'm sure that with AT's involvement and the seeming attention to detail the Chief exhibits in these photos, the finished products will be real rough water BEASTS! Nice job guys. :drink:

Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
I'm just happy to see the two collaborating instead of two companies slinging mud. Should be a great product. Best of luck! :drink:

Dockrocker I can answer that question for you. No Sean is not involved with Chief. He is pursuing other endeavors at this time. However, we wish all the guys at Chief the best of luck. It looks like they have a beautiful product.  |

As the owner of the First Mohican, I have to say that working with Marc, Bobby and Scott has been a real pleasure. These guys are straight shooters with tremendous follow through.
I think Mitcher T did a fantastic job on the paint. I know it has surpassed my expectations. I would recommend Mitch to anyone. His work speaks for itself. The pictures don't come close to doing it justice. More news to come.... |

You can't hardly buy a new Baja 275 for that. A Merc blue engine pkg is more than half of that. |
