Changing the models around would REALLY help me avoid some confusion at all the local watering holes. As it is now I'll have to explain to people that my boat is an Apache, not a Chief, AND(as if I need the distraction while trying to have a few Rum and Cokes) explain that my boat really is 41' long. If you made the 42' the WarHawk model I would only have to explain the different manufacturers involved, not go into a long dissertation about hull length thereby leaving me more time for Rum and Cokes and chicken wings. Never-mind the confusion for the people that bought our 2 previous Cigarette 38's(86,88 model years) that were called WarHawk. Those poor people are going to have alot of explaining to do. Not a Chief, not an Apache and not 37' long. The confusion at the local Shooters could hit historic levels. For the sake of the Bacardi Corporation, please, consider my proposal. |

I think Mitcher T did a fantastic job on the paint. I know it has surpassed my expectations. I would recommend Mitch to anyone. His work speaks for itself. The pictures don't come close to doing it justice. More news to come.... Dan |
Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
I was looking at the picture of the stern, it looks like the pad is turned down, similiar to the design of the step bottom Cig. Pretty Cool!

Re: Chief Powerboats - The Beginning of a new tribe
Thanks to all of you at Chief for taking the time to show us the new boat. It was a real pleasure seeing all of you again and you should all be congratulated on the workmanship and detail put forth into this boat. It has to be seen up-close to really appreciate all the fine details, the paint job is terrific.
We are looking forward to seeing it run this spring. Thanks again----Tommy and Kathy |

Nort, Not sure why you drug this thread up after all this time but i am man enough to admit i was WRONG about this boat company
At the time it was a great idea with what seemed to be great people Little did I know or any of those involved know that the principles (Scott and Daryal Grady) would be such liers and con men Some day I will write the Chief Powerboat Chronicles LOL Soon after the boat left Michigan from being painted and having the trailer built the boat headed back to Florida and the wheels started to fall off the operation All of a sudden Gradys had alot of deposit money from our customers but were not releasing any of it to complete the build on the boat One thing led to another and the struggle to get this boat compleated began. Promices and lies by the Grady's ruined this boat and the company and put a bad taste in the mouth of the owner of the 42' as well as started some struggle over the 37' Eventualy Pat finished the 37' as an Active Thunder and divorced himself from Chief as well as I did Tis the readers digest version |
Why did you drag this thread back out Nort ??

Well......I was reading some of your thoughts in the con man Chris Sunkin thread and compared it to your experiance with Chief Powerboats.........and how the Chief "situation" still continues to this day. Do you think it is because it hasn't been "outed" very well? You gave the Readers-Digest.....but maybe if there is a bigger story to tell....that could be very interesting. |
At some point i will
i do not have that much time to type the novel Maybe later but not now |
daamn, I hope i never make any of you guys mad...

hey was reading the cheif powerboats thing from 8 years ago.. I am a fellow michigander.. where were these boats going to be built in michigan? Do you still build boats? Did you work for another manufactuer before? Very interesting stuff.. the powerboat world is full of crazy stories and mysteries. . From don aronow to ben kramer.. bobby saccenti.. local con men like jim klym whom i would love to know more about if u have any info on that guy cause I have a klym gem.. just very curious saw u were in michigan and I think itcool that for some reason miami and michigan have been like the two places powerboat companies are manufactured.. thanks!

They were being built in Crown Point, IN.
