A word about Lip-Ship Marine.....
I've met Phil in Passing before but really never got a chance to really meet him.
I flew to Miami last weekend to look at a boat he has for sale. I went with my fiance, her 10 yr old daughter and a friend of ours. Flew in Friday early morning, ate and headed to Lip-Ship. Boat was in the water and Phil was handling business as usual. Said our hello's and decided to go for a sea-trial. Now, to me, a sea trial is you take the boat out get it up on plane, run it wide open a bit, turn it a few times and take it back. Is that what we did? No. Phil proceedes to take us for this un-explainably awesome run out of the cut with 6' rollers over to the stilt houses then to lunch at monty's where I had to fight him for the bill. He then proceeded to give us the grand tour of the bays and all the houses. we were out on this boat for like 4-5 hours!!! Now that is cool, but theres more. Saturday rolls around and we have time to kill before our flight so we head back to Phils. He has a Gladiator in the water that he was supposed to sea trial with the potential buyer. the guy doesn't show. so what do we do? Everyone in the gladiator 'cause we're going to lunch at Montys! And Phil buys!!! Then it's back in the Gladiator for a completely surreal ride back to his shop with the sunset setting over the buildings and glass water! It was AWESOME!!! After all of that he offers his home for us to change in before our flight. All of this for a boat that doesn't cost a 1/4 of the boats he normally sells! and he's not making a cent on the sale! I've heard people say they've had bad dealing with Lipship but I've never had a better experience with a salesman in my life!! I'm here to tell you that Phil is a class act through and through and cant wait to do more business with him in the future. He absolutely made our weekend and I thank him for it. |

Re: A word about Lip-Ship Marine.....
There's a reason a person like that is as successful as he is...and you found out. I'm sure you just scratched the tip of the iceberg with him too. Good luck and good story...there's too many scumbags in this industry, this is a pleasure to read.

Re: A word about Lip-Ship Marine.....
That's good, as long as you are buying a boat from him. When I was selling my Lip-ship topgun I had two people, after seeing it, call him to ask about it and they could not believe how he bad mouthed my boat, then tried to sell them one. Several times I sent him the email I received from my potential buyers stating what he said, to see what he based his opinion on. I have received no reply.
Oh well, I guess it depends if you are buying or selling. Just my word or warning. pm me for copy of email. |

Re: A word about Lip-Ship Marine.....
I dont know phil ..But ive seen some high end boat dealers act like this .. Chase someone away from a boat for one reason or another ..maybe they have someone else they want to sell it to etc ..
" Oh that things a piece of junk you dont want to buy that" ya because some other guy is drooling over it for 40K more .. Its all a game And obviously phil knows how to play .. just my 2 cents :D |

I have been trying to get Philly to tell me like it is, but he won't respond. All I asked him to do was backup his words with proof.. |
Re: A word about Lip-Ship Marine.....
I have never purchased a boat from Phil. Actually, I have never purchased a boat period, but that's besides the point. I was unceremoniously dumped into Phil's office a few weeks ago while my "host" took care of some bidness at TNT next door. Knowing there was zero chance I was buying anything, Phil, nonetheless, was an incredibly gracious host and storyteller. He could have very easily given me the short shift as a phknlwyr merely taking up space. Instead, he was a great guy to hang out with and gave me his full attention. If and when my girls are schooled, married, and out of my hair, oh maybe 25 years from now, Phil, I'm coming back to you with cash in hand for something long, loud, and fast!

If your in business long enough some conflict might arise. There is two sides to every story.
If you haven't dealt with him Pantera I'd refrain from passing judgement... I've said this before and stand by this; Phil is unequivocally the best gentlemen to deal with regarding Cigarette's and I would dare say boats in general. My experience is that he is black and white and does not suffer fools a whole lot. If you approach him I would make a point to do so when you are ready to buy and write the check if he quotes you a price you are comfortable with. He has never misled me, always treated me as well as I expect and has an enormous amount of knowledge in performance boating. His whole team is just as serviceable also namely Mauricio and his crew and the lovely Venessa. And I'm just a pipskweek that bought a used boat from him... If someone wants their butt kissed I would steer very clear from Phil however. |

Stecz, Packin actually questioned whether OMD were yours and if Jill was your ex. Either he has sh!t for brains (most likely) or your rhetoric as Mr. W has people confused. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he asked me the question. |
