In a race application, it is capable of 1800+HP.
I guess I fail to see where anyone is "taking their pants down" in front of everyone or even making false claims.
They didn't say they "guaranteed" 1600hp, or even that it made 1600hp. They just called it a TMP1600.
They also didn't say it made 1600hp on pump gas. They said this:
The 1600's are a race style engine. They run on 110 octane. They are solid roller, and include Jesel valve train and belt drive. The lifters are custom built and include a built in pressurized oil system. The heads are Dart Pro 1's with a custom CNC program followed by hand polishing. We use whipple 3.3 quad rotors w/ MOAC intercooler. The computer system is a Mefi4, with a custom built harness dual IAC controls, engine monitoring system and safe mode. We also have a custom built fuel system includng SS regulator. These engines will be tested in the new 36 NorTech canopy boat. We will have a built in computer system in dash that will allow us to monitor, record and adjust engine vitals as we run in real time. There will also be a satellite internet system that will allow for data transfer to our facility in real time also.
We offer a similar engine on 91 octane pump gas, that does 1200HP, and 1400 on 100 octane fuel. This engine is hydraulic roller, and makes power at 6000RPM's. We could do around 1300HP in a solid roller version of this engine.
I have no dog in this fight either, but I do appreciate manufacturers coming on to OSO and announcing their new products. I figure that since there is no real life experience with the product (as it is a new product, that would be impossible), I will have to let others try out the product and see what happens, or do my own research and find out for myself.
Let them introduce their products, and let the customers decide if they are worth buying.
Congrats TMP on succeeding to two things:
1. Keeping us OSO "nitwits" apprised on your latest products.
2. Making the "competition" think.
Perhaps we will all benefit from this in the long run.
Carry on.
