At least you won't find a bowsprit on the Outerlimits....

I figured being that the Outerlimits measures in at a length of 39'11" and ways 8800lbs being made from epoxy I believe that the fact that the Fountain does not have a cabin the epoxy, shorter in length and lighter overall weight would make up for it having a cabin. The Fountain measures centerline at 42' and weighs in at a much heavier 10,300lbs and is built with vinyl-ester and various grades of woven and knitted fiberglass.

So with those stats at hand it seems that Fountain is faster even being bigger, heavier and using advanced composites. So when you are going to take stabs at me for stating the obvious know a little something more about what you are talking about when you bash someone that may unfortunately know a little more then you.

Man am I starting to feel like T2X!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They also stated that the "X" was so high in the OL it was hard to get on plane. It would be nice to have some sort of a cabin in the 42PR.

Back4More,

Having sat in one before at a few boat shows I think some kind of cabin could be put it but it be more of a bunny pad rather then couches or a head.

They use woven roving in their boats???

I got to know Dennis, how do you know this? Most tours won't let you near the laminating room....

a 42 PR weighs the same as a 42 lightining w/ blower motors and a cabin?

http://www.powerboatmag.com/2004test...in_results.pdf

i have seen three tests for the OL and all three weights were different for the exact same boat "no discipline"...??? and then a 42 L with cobras and a cabin weights the same as a no cabin 525 boat? i bet if you put both on the scale they aren't that far apart in the 9k range...

not to mention the fountain is narrower...

OL beam is 9'2, fountain beam is 8'6....

If you feel like i was taking stabs at your info, too bad, get over it... the bottom line is unless you have both boats with the same power on the same day and running in the same water it is a moot point to argue about 1-2 MPH either way...

plus T2x does know what he is talking about...
