IMHO, the stupidity will stop when someone dies... until that time comes, insanity will prevail.

It hasn't stopped anyone before, except those that have passed on.

My point is, people will always push the envelope and we all will learn something from it.

Hi Indy
We did not win the worlds due to a coupler letting go during the second race. We did win the Wednesday race with a Cigarette just seconds behind us. I can't recall how far back the Fountains were that were still running. We also took home several divisional titles along with many checkered flags.
Even though we didn't win the worlds, I know what it feels like to win in Key West!!

Tim Very Well Put The Facts! So True And They Will Keep Pushing The Limit. Hell We All, Or Some Of Us Remember When Rockie Ioke And Don Johnson Were Hitting 65 Mph We Thought That Was Fast And That Seems Like Just A Couple Of Years Ago. Rockie Busted Almost Every Bone In His Body On A Bad Crash But He Still Supports Offshore Racing 100%

Your right! It was mostly from the circle racing in the tunnel boats...
Can get a more recent photo of the Offshore trophies?

Harry Turner has been racing Outerlimits hulls since 95, all called Obsession. He ran in P2 class in Key West against Fabio.

Whatever happened to Media Master? Wasn't that a canopied Outerlimits?

Just another example..........Bojoe,

In my day as a Professional BMX Racer, people just started doing backflips on bikes. As time went on, it progressed to doing back flips on Motorcycles.
Today, people are doing back flips on snowmobiles...

And yes, I am sure it has been done in a boat, just not on purpose......

It seems like mostly Fountain owners that are pitching a *****. They are afraid of someone taking the only good thing Fountain has left away. Outerlimits definately beats them in the "looks" dept, especially the fact that they dont have that ridiculous 10' beak!

Just got word today:

Actual speed for Michael Dixon was 143.8 MPH in an STV RIVER ROCKET. The bar has been raised for a Single Outboard Boat!

Wow, he really is an angry Irish man....

Of course, you have to wonder how much of this chest thumpin, gold wearin egomaniacial straight line wars there would be if the boat manufacturers had had somewhere organized to race for the past several years instead of poker runs..

Todays poker runs are the proving ground anymore. They get as much and even more publicity as offshore racing. And, in a poker run it is the first boat to the stops that gets the bragging rights, not the alleged world champion..
