Johnathan Pantaleon is one of the most talented painters I have seen. Apparently airbrush action and Sata paint guns both agree since he painted the Sata paint gun mural and teachs for Sata. The detail work is incredible.
Steve Shulte from Skater is very talented as well as many others.

There is a ton of great painters out there, some are no doubt better than others, but if you bring value into the equation the list of well known guys seems to dwindle. I won't pick a favorite because I think you can find a TOAD or MitcherT quality kind of outfit in just about any neck of the woods. I think as long as one sees some of the firms work and is comfortable with the style of that particular painter, they don't have to be plastered on a page of a magazine.
For instance this guy is one of the most detailed painters I have ever met, yet I'm sure nobody knows about him: www.customimagemotorsports.com
