nor-tech makes some pretty sweet vee's 39, 43 and 50'
jassman's 43 is the first that comes to mind...

Fountain has the PR game down. They make a fast boat that sets records and wins races. Why? Because that's their focus. Nothing wrong with that. If speed is your number 1 priority then I definitely think Fountain should be at the top of your shopping list. People compare other boats to Fountains wondering if they will be as fast with the same power. Chances are they won't. However, Fountain is not the gold standard to use for comparing comfort, safety, amenities, quality, ride, etc. etc. and people in the know don't use it as one.
