We lost a blade off a 4 blade Bravo 1 prop last year.

The wife was driving, we were turning about 5000 RPM, 70 MPH when there was a really wicked vibration. She immediately throttled back and I was looking back at the same time and we had a rooster tail that I had never seen before.

At idle the boat shook real bad until she got the drives out of gear. Then we figured out it was the porp drive and idled in on the starboard.

I supected that we had thrown a blade from what I had been told. At least that is what I had hoped happened and it was.

Fornuately it did not hit the boat!

I remember seeing photos of unlimited hydros some years back that had lost blades. MAJOR CATASTROPHE! They spin them quite a bit faster.
