Default Hole in my hull??

There is a hole and a shroud in my bow near the front eye. I curious what it is for. It goes into the area in front of the forward bulkhead behind the panel at the foot of the V berth. Any Ideas why this hole would be there?

Cool

Do you have an anchor locker - if you do it is a drain port.

Powerquest installed them to let the water back out throught the bow incase the boat sank

Ray,
It is there to help vent the forward area keeping the dampness and smell out of there. I have seen other manafactures use these as well. My clamshell kept getting smashed from my trailer bow stop. I finally got my stop in the right place after seeing one of your pictures (thanks).

Here is a good tip for any of you that have a Manning trailer. The piece that slides up and down with the bow stop attached will hold water and rust so that you can no longer adjust it up and down. Take it apart and drill a couple of 1/4 inch holes into the base of the recieving part. Mine was so bad I had to use a jack to separate them. Scott

This is the drain for the pull up cleat or the pop up cleat in the front of the boat. My 280 Silencer has the same thing. If you squirt the water hose in the cleat, you will see the water drain from this hole.

That answers that. Thanks. I thought it may of been another "Previous Owner" modification.

One more question. Where does your hot water heater tap into the engine at? IN and out.

Ray,
Here is a picture, I'm not sure on the in and out or if it matters. The one line is out of the therm. housing and the other is from a modified T in the pump line. I'm guessing you don't have pumps so you can T at the crossover. Scott

I know they dont run raw water to the heater any more because merc got wind of it and said it would void the warranty. Mine is the same way and it is nice to have hot water all the time.
