Is this a older Mirage solid hub 25? Like from the early 90's? If so, it probably has a part # on the prop like 48-13248A50 25P

If that is the case the thrust hub you are looking for is a Mercury part # 14359

Been there done that. I have thrust washer and the same prop for sale if you need a spare :D

looks like big jim might be right, it's the same p/n prop that i bought. do i need to get two different washers, front and back, or just the big thrust washer??

Measure the hub housing from the outside diameter. This is an old part number, 48-13248-25. I believe what you have is an old style solid hub mirage. If so the thrust washer is indeed different and 1BIGJIM would be correct.

i picked up that new thrust washer at a local mercury dealer, but do i use the same thrust washer on the nut side. Looks like this one is stepped to fit into the 23p, and it would just butt up against the 25p??? thanks for the help guys

On the back/nut side use the castellated splined washer, a tab washer and the nut torqued to 55 ft/lbs.

some time the small old style thrust washer will fret onto the prop shaft tight enough that it apeears to be a part of it.
The prop shaft should not appear to have any shoulder on it if it does it is the old thrust washer and needs to come off.

Wipe the grease off the shaft and take a close look at the spline. Check to see if it has a slight twist in it. I had the same problem when I went from a B1 to a Hydro Q4. I couldn't get it to go on that last little bit.

I replaced the shafts and then everything fit fine. My wallet fit in my pants better too because it had less in it.
