Help! I am geting water up the tail pipes
I need some opinions on if the Hardin marine weighted flapper valve and a Salisbury rubber tip will really be enough to keep the water from rushing up the exhaust on the Sonic and collecting around the aft exhaust ports.
These are KE cast alum. Headers with a 8" section of 4" rubber exhaust hose connecting to a strait thru 8" stainless tip. I have NO baffles or restrictions at all. The tip ends up about 3" above the waterline at idle and when waves or wakes wash up the back in all ends up around the back cylinders.
I was thinking about some mufflers with spring loaded flappers but if these weighted ones could just be added to my existing tips, than I would rather do that and top it off with a rubber external flapper just in case.
What do you all think??
