Default Bravo to X

I just found a good deal on a couple of X drives ,thinking of changing out my 1990 bravo's since one is already blown. Anyway I was wondering if the X drive has the larger U-joints like the XR that would require changing Gimbal bearings or if it is a direct swap for a standard bravo? Thanks.

My findings so far have been that all pre OW x/xz drives have the larger u-joints, but none of the new OW x series have come with the larger just standard size bravo u-joints.Zip None of the b1's or b3's.

Its probably not a bad time to change your bearings anyway, being a 1990 they've got some age. Just a maintance precaution, there fairly easy to change, just my 02.

I agree but they have both been changed recently. One was changed right before I bought the boatand the second one I already replaced when the drive blew. I replaced it with the one for a standard bravo. Don't you have to replace the bellows as well...if I do need to change the bearing to the larger style?
