Default Wear on thrust surfaces of cylinder walls

with only 18 hrs on motor? Is this normal? All the cross hatches are gone on the inboard thrust surface. Gen 6 540 6.385 H beams and SRP pistons. I had them bore it 3.5 thou and an extra .001 for marine app. Is this normal? it seem slike they are rocking qute a bit. I know this is not the optimal combination but they should be lasting longer than this???

Hpy540,
When you refer to the inboard thrust axis do you mean the area of the cylinder wall on the valley side (on both sides)?

To be clear on my previous post. From the front of the engine, assuming CW rotation, the major thrust axis is to the left side of each bank of cylinders, or the outboard (exhaust) side of the left bank and the inboard side (Intake) of the right bank. The minor thrust axis is the opposite.

hpy,are the skirts also scuffed bad? My gues would be it goes hand in hand with the near zero oil pressure at idle. Did you find anything else wrong? I posted a thread about oiling systems w/pics of all the adapters we were talking about. If you didn't see it go back a few days and have a look, Smitty
