every person on here has a opinion. I don't think you can go wrong with a synthetic oil. Some may be better than others but I have used valvoline conventional my whole life and have not had any problems. I now use mobile one synthetic.

Bob's guys are stashing old formulation oil...it is much better than the new stuff...
Now some companies have non-API rated oils...they don't conform but are still out there...like Amsoil Series 3000 5W-30 or Mobil-1 MX2T 10W-40 Motorcycle oil...or our friend 20-50 Mobil-1 V-twin...most of Bob's guys who don't have a stash are mixing oils...adding a quart or 2 of 15W-50 to 3 quarts of 10W-30 as the newer stuff is not holding up as good..the new conventional oils are pitiful with low ZDDP....
Goldcap recent samples showed higher ZDDP but the base is lower...it's crazy...Mobil is reformulating many synthetic and non-synthetic products as are other compnaies as well.
You can imagine how pi**ed off I am after getting this thing all figured out.
Choose carefully...

The big blower guy's mechanics are amazed at how well Mobil-1 V-Twin protects when doing teardown inspections.. It may be the best marine synthetic ever made..though it has a "picture of a motorcycle" on the label...
