What's the Difference?

What is the difference between a Gen V and a Gen VI remote oil filter adapter (Part that connects to the block). Can a Gen V be run on a Gen VI?

The oil filter pad on each is different. You do not want to use the the cooler taps on the gen 6 block. When I went to gen 6 I had to get a new oil filter adapter because old one would not work on new motor don't remember exactly why.

In the CPPerformance catalog, it lists two different part numbers for the two blocks. Any ideas why?
