How to straighten a bent skeg ?
I have a skeg that is bent out of shape a little at the lower front part of the skeg it is bent 1/3 inch and I want to bent it back without breaking it ! What is the best way to do this ?
Do I heat it before I bent or do I bent it cold ?

Re: How to straighten a bent skeg ?
The best way to straighten the skeg if it is only a slight tweak is to use two 3 pound hammers. While holding one hammer on the side which you wish the skeg to move, strike the otherside with minmal force allowing the opposing hammer to bounce free when your strike is made. Continue this action until your satisfied with the angle and re-paint if necessary. Heat should not be necessary if your tweak is only a 1/3 of an inch.
