Re: Bilge seems to run all the time

I would lower the boat into the water again, after I pumped out all the water from the bilge, and let it sit for an hour, without starting it. Watch for water in the bilge again. If none, then something leaking from motor or hoses while running only. You could get lucky, and find a loose hose clamp. If still getting water, then probably coming from something on that transom, bellows, etc. = time to take it to the shop if you never have done that type of work before. Good Luck.

These last few posts or so are really good.

Also... lots of times a leaky bellows will leak OUT when you have the boat out of the water and raise the drive.

(the rubber separates and the water comes out.)

Don't live with the leak, get it diagnosed and repaired if you can't find it on your own.

Check and see if its leaking through the weep hole...maybe the pump is going bad? another trick you can try is to put a dusting of baby powder into the bilge and go out for a quick drive.....pop the hatch and see if you can locate where the water is originating from. When it comes to boats theres so many variables it can take a while to track it down. Good luck

I bought it exactly a year ago from a guy just outside of Oklahoma City. He was the second owner i believe. This has been going on since i bought it (embarrassingly enough)
