carb question
#1
i have a some carbs i would like to try on my boat. they are a pair of weber's off a mid 90's 390hp Merc 502's . i want to put them on my small blocks in my scorpion. they are basically 260's with mild cams, Performer intakes and stainless risers. my current Q-jets have been acting up lately and i was thinking about tossing these on. would they work on the small blocks?

thanks guys, i will re-build the Q's. actually i have had great luck with them in the past but was just wondering if i could use the webers, i will hang on to them for another project. the problem i am having with my current carbs is a when they are at mid throttle, just about when the secondaries are opening. i can run the boat at about 3 grand just fine. as i give it throttle my port motor gets a big stutter. if i dont back off or bring it up to about 4 grand or more the motor will actually stall. it runs great at full throttle or close to it ( which is where is usually is anyway

You could but you will need to recalibrate them to run on your motors. Best off to just rebuild your q jets. They are cheap and easy to do Dave.
