Yes, I would agree that the 731 is good to about 5200 in a 502...
Agreed, the dyno does not lie. 5200 is where power starts falling with the 731 cam.

You just cant beat Bob Madera at Marine kinetics for cams.. He will take all your specs. and grind a cam just for your eng/boat combo that works!!!!!!!!!!!
Not to mention he's just a fantastic person to deal with period!!!
Much better then any off the shelf type. Great knowledge and insight to valve train magic.
Just call comp or cranes tech line and then call Bob You'll see and hear the difference.

I emphatically agree! "rmbuilder"/Bob Madera helped me quite extensively in my cam, and cylinder head combination for my engines. I had a very unique, personal request when it came to how I wanted my engines to idle/act/perform, etc and he was just the man for the job and I am very pleased with the outcome.

I have to agree too, with bob's cam spec's I was able to reach my goal of 900 plus hp on my current engine combo. Anyone can pick a cam out of the air on a tech line or sell you something that has worked in a generic combo for them but he actually specs out the grind to your exact combo,my motor made 944 hp/967 ft lbs torque on dyno with cmi elbow tops AND it idles at 10 inches of vacuum at 700 RPM'S,Smitty
